Symptom
The setting "Store Prompts with Workbook" is unchecked in the Components tab of Analysis Office Design Panel.
When opening the workbook, the variable screen will show the previous variable values used to run the report.
Environment
SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office
Cause
This is not a bug but the intended behavior, if the refresh behavior of the variable is set to "Refresh Dynamically" in the query definition.
Resolution
Check the refresh behavior of the variable in the query definition, in Query Designer/Modelling Tools as per below:
Modeling Tools perspective:
Query Designer perspective:
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental".
If the refresh behavior is set to "Dynamically", the setting "Store Prompts with Workbook" will not be used in Analysis Office. Instead, the values from the persisted state of the workbook will be used.
In case it is required to use the setting "Store Prompts with Workbook" unchecked so the default variables of the query are used, it is necessary to change the refresh behavior of the variables to "As Designed".
This is also explained in chapter "To select workbook properties for prompting" in the User Guide of Analysis Office.
