2771912 - "Store Prompts with Workbook" is unchecked but previous variable values are used

Symptom

The setting "Store Prompts with Workbook" is unchecked in the Components tab of Analysis Office Design Panel.

When opening the workbook, the variable screen will show the last prompts values used in the last time the workbook was saved.

Environment

Cause

This is not a bug but the intended behavior, if the refresh behavior of the variable is set to "Refresh Dynamically" in the query definition.

Resolution

If the workbook parameter "Store Prompts with Workbook" is not set, the variable values will work according to the option selected in setting "Refresh Variables" in the query definition.

Modeling Tools perspective:

Refresh Dynamically: If the refresh behavior is set to "Dynamically". the variables values used before the last Workbook saving command will be used when reopening the workbook.

Refresh as Designed: If the refresh behavior is set to "As Designed", the variable values defined in the Default Values area of the query definition are applied.

This is also explained in chapter "To select workbook properties for prompting" in the User Guide of Analysis Office.
