You receive an error while merging transaction records during data cleansing:

Merge Completed – Realignment Failed

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Data Cleansing work center
  2. Go To Customer Merge view
  3. Open Merge ID: XXX (where XXX represents Merge ID)
  4. Go to Result Log
  5. Open the Application Log that has an error
  6. Click on Result
  7. Realignment failed for Activity YYY (where YYY represents Activity), Business Partner replace failed, Replace of parties failed for document ZZZ (where ZZZ represents document)


The reason for this error is that the system is not scoped to enabled enhanced document realignment during account merge.


  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center
  2. Click on Implementation Projects
  3. Click on First Implementation
  4. Click on Edit Project Scope
  5. Go to the Questions tab
  6. Click on General Business Data
  7. Click on Business Partner
  8. Select Handling of Business Partner
  9. Select Do you want to enable enhanced document realignment during account merge?
