2773002 - Db2: Transfer Ownership of a database object

Symptom

There is a requirement to transfer the ownership of a database object. This can be for a number of different reasons:

  • You encounter the following error due to the incorrect owner of a table:
    SQL0551N The statement failed because the ID does not have the required authorization or privilege to perform the operation. Authorization ID: "<SCHEMA>". Operation: "SELECT". Object: "<TABSCHEMA>.<TABNAME>". SQLSTATE=42501
  • Objects created as incorrect user
  • Incorrect owner of objects post system copy or redirected restore
