Symptom
In the Continuous Performance Management "Add Activity" and "Add Achievement" dialogue windows, the Performance or Development Goal drop-down list can be “written into” i.e. text can be typed into the field.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Continuous Performance Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Continuous Performance Management
- Select the Activity or Achievement tab
- Select Add Activity (or Add Achievement)
- Click into the Performance Goal dropdown menu and find it is possible to type text and then save the Activity:
While the Activity saves, the typed text in the Performance Goal field does not save.
Resolution
- The Personal Goal and Development Goal drop-down list is not an editable field.
- It is a type-in field for quick search/short cut for the drop down selections. This is the current UI design. (SL-4176)
- The use case for the type in search is for end-users to quickly find his/her goal quickly when there is a large selection of goals.
