2773643 - How to use the EP Role (All Matrix Managers) in a Route Map - Performance Management

Symptom

This article discusses the EP role which is used in the Performance Management process to encompass all Matrix Managers in a Route Map.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

Resolution

  • The EP role represents All Matrix Managers.
  • This role is useful if you have employees who report to multiple Matrix Managers at the same time.
  • With this role, you can forward a performance form to all Matrix Managers in a routing step, allowing all the matrix managers to participate in the step.

Note: You can only use the EP role with Collaborative Step (C-Step) route maps and Iterative Step (I-Step) route maps - Single steps are not supported.

How to configure in the route map:

  1. Go to Manage Route Maps
  2. Select either an Iterative or Collaborative step
  3. Select the Roles dropdown list:

Behaviour:

  • If you configured an Iterative step type, (I EM EP), then the Manager (EM) could choose which user among all matrix managers (EP), to send the form.
  • If you configured a collaborative step type (C EM EP) between EM & EP, the form would go from the Manager (EM) to All Matrix Managers (EP).
