2774353 - Production Date Missing in Uniform Content Label

Symptom

You have created a label ABC (ABC represents the Label ID) against a Production Order and when you check the XML output data of the label, you expect the Production Date to be visible, but this is not the case. You compare this label with other labels and you can see that the Production Date is visible there. Now you want to know why the Production Date is not visible in the XML output of label ABC.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Production Control work center.
  2. Go to Common Tasks.
  3. Select Label.
  4. Select the label ABC and click the Preview button.
  5. You can see that a date is shown on the label, but without any value.
  6. If you open the XML data, you cannot find the Production Date tag.

Cause

This field relates to the Product Due Date which comes from planning and which informs about the date when this Output Material is required or must be manufactured.

When a new label is created against Production Orders with status In Preparation or Released (No confirmation has been created yet), it picks up this date and the same is visible on the label form. However, when the new label is created against Production Orders with status Started, Finished or Closed (meaning at least one Production Confirmation is done), it doesn’t pick this date. This field is planning relevant and once the execution is started (delayed or early), the date is not picked up by the label anymore.

Resolution

The system is behaving as expected. The Production Date is only visible on the form if no confirmation has been performed against the Production Order.
