2775503 - Error: "No data available or you do not have the necessary permission" but the got data saved - Employee Central

Symptom

When creating a new position or changing a Legal Entity for an existing Position system generate the following error: "No data available or you do not have the necessary permission", but the workflow is triggered for approver and they are able to save the change.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Position Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Position Org Chart
  2. Search/Find Position
  3. Click to Edit the Position
  4. Hit save
  5. The error will appear: "No data available or you do not have the necessary permission"

Result: The workflow was triggered for admin approve the change.

Cause

Person changing the position has only access to position with certain field criteria, after user change the field criteria and save the system will generate a no permission error highlighting that position is now outside of his/her target population.

Resolution

Expected Behavior according the user performing the changes does not have permission for the new Legal Entity inserted on the Position, then if is needed user must have the permission for the new Legal Entity value as well.
