What are custom views?
In summary this would enable planners to view additional information for better decision making.
Planners can view employee information such as Compensation history, rating history and bonus history within both worksheets and executive review.
NOTE
Custom views can only be used currently while within Salary and Variable Pay.
Should you have a Stock only template (Equity) without Salary being enabled, custom views can be configured but will not populate in the Stock tab.
This is current design and is being considered for enhancement CMP-22882 in the 1H 2105 release.
Where to configure custom views?
These can be created via Plan Setup> Design Worksheet> Design Worksheet> Custom Views.
Here you can create a custom view and pull in data from employee profile portlets such as Job Information, Employee Details,
The step by step process is as follows.
- Go to Compensation Home.
- Select Plan Setup> Design Worksheet> Design Worksheet.
- From the "Which type of fields would you like to configure" dropdown select "Custom Views".
- Select "Add Custom View" from the next screen.
- Define a label for your new view and select section you would like to use the "Section" drop-down. The options are as follows
> Employment Information
> Personal Information
> Compensation Information
> Profile
> Talent Profile
> Compensation Statement - Next define which block you want to use from the selected "Section".
- Save your changes.
In the below example we have created a custom view for compensation information.
On the form which we launch we will see the view by selecting the icon for an employee.
In this view, we will see the following information.
The data in the custom view is being pulled directly from the employee compensation information portlet within employee profile as seen below.
What links are supported for custom views?
As documented within our Compensation administrative guide, employee profile V12 has been retired In Q3 2018. The custom view feature in Compensation will no longer support this. This is under section 13.2.4.9.
Therefore, planners cannot configure new employee profile portlets in worksheets and executive review. However, you can view existing v12 portlets in worksheets and executive review.
In order to continue using custom view link in Compensation, we recommend upgrading the instance to use people profile.
Supported and non-supported portlets are as follows:
yes = Usable in worksheets
no= Unusable in worksheets
n/a = Not available for selection in views

Permissions
- There are no permissions added for adding portlets or custom view from Compensation & Variable Pay
- If the logged in user has permissions to see a portlet, then this user can set up the portlet as a custom view through the Compensation plan
- Compensation does not control the portlet fields visibility. However, this is configured from within people profile etc will be how it is shown in your worksheets.
- We do not maintain the data going into the worksheets. Should there be any data issue on any custom view please review this within the portlet configuration and people profile.
