Symptom
You have defined Rules for Lead Assignment but they do not work as expected when associating an Account with a different territory and owner to the Lead.
The determination of the Involved Parties is set up to only determine the Owner from the territory team.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
-
Go to the Sales workcenter.
- Go to the Leads view.
- Create a new Lead with a Prospect.
- Open the new Lead and note that the Territory and Owner assignment has worked as per the rules you have maintained.
- Click Actions > Associate Account.
- Select an Account that has a different Territory and Owner.
- Save and open the Lead.
Result: The Lead has still the Owner and/or Territory as before, the assignment rules have not worked as expected.
Cause
You have an active workflow rule that determines to only execute the Rules for Lead Assignment on Create. This prevents the system from re-determining the data.
Resolution
If you wish for the determination to work properly, please deactivate the workflow rule, or change the settings to On Every Save.
