2776825 - SUM instance with status GRAY not allowed in phase PREP_EXTRACT/BEGIN_PRE

Symptom

When running SUM for an update of an ABAP system, the following error occurred in phase PREP_EXTRACT/BEGIN_PRE.

In the log file "PHASES.LOG", there is the following content.

1WETQ399 SYSTEM MANAGER: initialize instance list has failed.
1WETQ399 SYSTEM MANAGER: SUM instance with status GRAY not allowed.
1EETQ399 Last error code set is: SYSTEM MANAGER: SUM instance with status GRAY not allowed.

ABAP system update/upgrade with SUM.
