2778358 - Employee Missing in Direct Approvers for Supplier Approval

Symptom

You are trying to define Employees for Supplier Approval, but they are not showing up in the Direct Approvers list.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Application and User Management Work Center.
  2. Go to Task Distribution and Approval Processes View.
  3. Filter it by All Processes.
  4. Edit an available one under "Related Business Document: Business Partner Approval Request".
  5. Under "Work Distribution" change it to "Direct Approvers" and click in Edit button.
  6. You won't find any available approver.

Cause

Case 1:

 This happens because there are no Business Users with the work center "Managing My Area" and the views "Supplier".

Case 2:

 Also if there is no write access for the "Managing My Area" and the views "Supplier" for the respective user.

Resolution

Prerequisties:

Scoping Question "Do you want to set up approval process for suppliers?" should be scoped.

Resolution 1:

If you want the Employee to be appearing in the list of Approvers for "Business Partner Approval Request", then assign the work center "Managing My Area" and the views "Supplier".

Note: If you want to check the Supplier data then you can also assign "Supplier Base" work center

Resolution 2:

2. You also need to verify whether the user has write access for "Managing My Area" and the views "Supplier" to the respective user. Ensure that the user have Unrestricted write access
