2778874 - Time Accounts Appear to be Created Automatically Even With the Field Account Creation Automation set to 'No Automation'

Symptom

A user is hired with a past dated hire date and a Time Account is created automatically, even though the field "Account Creation Automation" is set to 'No Automation' on the Time Account Type

Environment

Employee Central - Time Off

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Hire a user via add new hire wizard with time information assigned, and hire date in previous year (for example 1st Feb 2015)
  2. Time Account is created automatically for current year 2019, for time account type which does not have automatic account creation enabled.

Resolution

This is expected system behaviour.

It is expected that the Time Account is created automatically after hire even the hire date is past dated, regardless of Account creation automation setting.

  • Below are the expected system behavior on Time Account Creation

Scenario 1: We assigned time profile to an employee with past dated hire date during hire process

Result: Time account for the current year is created

Scenario 2: Employee has past dated hire date and Time Profile was assigned via MSS with past dated event date.

Result: Time accounts from hire date are all created.

Scenario 3: Newly created time type is added in the employee's time profile and account creation calendar is run for that time account type

Result: Time account for the current year is created.

From the next year on, the system will follow the account creation automation setting (no automation in this case).
