2779229 - Hours Recorded in a Project Outside the Start/Finish Date of the Project

Symptom

You have noticed that some users have recorded some hours in a project outside of its start/finish dates.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the work center Project Management.
  2. Go to the Project view.
  3. Select and open the project of your choice.
  4. Click Team and Staffing tab.
  5. From here you can see that some hours have been recorded by one or some employees in the project outside of its start/finish dates.

Cause

In project header settings, you allowed time recording oHence hours can be recorded in the project by an employee as long as the project status is either Released or Started.

Resolution

If you want to restrict project time recording outside of planned period, please follow below steps.

  1. Open the project.
  2. Go to Gantt Chart.
  3. Select the project header, go to Project Settings subtab.
  4. In Time Recording section, 

If here you select Not Allowed, then an error message would be raised in timesheet when any employee recording time for this project outside of planned period.

If here you select Approval Required, then approval process would be triggered when an employee recording time for this project outside of planned period.
