2780515 - "Syntax Error for Program <>" error occurs in SAP NetWeaver after uploading ABAP program from CPI-DS - SAP Cloud Platform Integration for Data Services

Symptom

  • The following error message can be seen in SAP NetWeaver during checking the ABAP program via Tcode SE38 after it has been uploaded from CI-DS using the "Generate and view ABAP report" (star) button:
    • Syntax Error for Program <program name>

  • The source/target SAP Application datastore is set to "Generate and Execute" mode.
