Symptom
When reporting on Material Supply and Demand List data source, you noticed there are entries where characteristic fields "Document ID" and "Source" are displaying Not Assigned (#) value.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
-
Go to the Business Analytics work center.
- Go to the Design Data Report work center view.
- Search for the Material Supply and Demand List report (you can also open the data source in Preview mode from the Design Data Sources work center view).
- Apply the relevant filters to the report in the Selection pane (make sure you insert filter into "Supply Planning Area ID" field, which is recommended).
- Click on Apply to update the report results.
- The entries belonging to category "Available Stock" are displaying Not Assigned (#) values for the characteristic fields "Document ID" and "Source".
- Note that it is highly recommended to apply filters on "Supply Planning Area ID" field in report Selection, otherwise you may experience timeout issues.
Cause
The category "Available Stock" has no Document ID and Source data linked to it by default. This is the expected behavior from Supply Planning perspective. You can crosscheck that by following the below steps:
-
Go to the Supply Planning work center.
- Go to the Products work center view.
- Select the filter to display "All Products".
- Search for the relevant Product (in the report it is named as "Material ID").
- Select the relevant entry and click on "Open Product Planning Details" button.
- In the Product Planning Details window, under Supply and Demand List section you can see that the category "Available Stock" has no Document ID and Source data linked to it.
Resolution
This is the correct behaviour when the data is not maintained.
