2781112 - Israel VAT Return File Shows 000000000 as the Company VAT Number

VAT Return XYZ file shows 000000000 as the Company ABC VAT Number on the first tag. (ABC represents the Company ID); (XYZ represents the relevant VAT Return ID).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Tax Management work center.
2. Go to the Tax Returns view.
3. Go to the VAT Returns subview.
4. Show All Tax Returns.
5. Find VAT Return XYZ.
6. Click the View button.
7. Open the Attachments tab.
8. Open the .txt file linked to VAT Return XYZ.
   You note that on the first tag the Company ABC VAT Number is showing as 000000000.

You have not maintained the Company ABC VAT Number in the Master Data or the format is incorrect.

For Israel the correct Tax Number formats are:

1 - VAT Registration Number: IL123456789 (Country Code + 9 digits)
3 - Company Legal ID: 123456789 (9 digits same as the VAT Registration Number minus the Country Code)

In order to maintain the Company ABC VAT Number please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Tax Management work center.
2. Go to the Tax Authorities view.
3. Go to the Company Tax Arrangements subview.
4. Select the Company ABC and the relevant Tax Authority.
5. Click Edit.
6. Open the Tax Numbers tab.
7. Click on Add Row.
8. Add the Tax Number Types 1 - VAT Registration Number and 3 - Company Legal ID with the respective numbers.
9. Click on Save.

Once the above has been completed, you will need to create a new VAT Return.
