Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Succession Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to People Profile;
  2. Scroll down to Successors/ Nominations portlet;
  3. Check the order of the ranking.

Cause

The portlet will always order by readiness, however you can order by ranking as well as readiness by making sure Enable ranking of successors feature is enabled. Then the ordering will be by Readiness, then by Ranking, then by successors full name. Otherwise, the Successor portlet will order by Readiness, then by the successors full name.

Resolution

If you wish to have your Successor portlet order according to ranking, you need to enable the Enable ranking of successors feature in the Admin Center:

  1. Go to Admin Center;
  2. Nominations Set Up;
  3. Tick the box for 'Enable ranking of Successors;
  4. Save.

Once enabled the Successor Portlet will then order according to Readiness then Successors ranking.

NOTE:This does not apply to the Nomination portlet, which is a record of positions the user is nominated to, and not designed to order according to ranking. The Nomination portlet will sort according to Readiness, Position Title, and Incumbent's full name.
