Symptom
You are creating Registered Products with Party assignment, using the Data Workbench tool for Complete Business Objects, but you noticed that even though the import finishes successfully, the fields Building/Floor/Room from the Product Location section are shown empty in the UI, despite the information maintained in the CSV template for them.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
-
Go to the Data Workbench work center.
-
Click on Import, selecting Complete Business Object.
-
Search for the object Registered Product and select it.
-
Click on Next.
-
Upload the .zip file containing the Registered Product template and the Party template.
-
Click Next, until you reach the Import button.
-
Check the result in the Monitor view.
-
Go to the Registered Products view in UI.
-
Search for the Registered Product ID and open it.
-
See the field Building/Floor/Room empty.
Cause
The Product Location fields in the Registered Product main template will be considered by the application logic only when there is no Party assignment maintained for the customer side (where the product is located). So, if you maintain a party assignment in the Party template, with a customer side role code (for example role code 60), the Product Location will be populated with the information maintained in the Ship-To address from the Customer master data. In this example, the Ship-To address does not have any information maintained for Building, Floor and Room, so the Registered Product will also not carry that information, regardless of the Building, Floor and Room information in the Registered Product main template.
Resolution
If you plan on creating Registered Product with Party assignment, maintain all the necessary Ship-To address information in the customer master data before assigning the party to the Registered Product.
