2783996 - PDF print properties are lost after merging

Symptom

In the system which has SAP Note 2237181 - "ADS spool requests are displayed incompletely with SAP GUI for HTML" applied, the ADS spool consisting of multiple PDF files(parts) are merged into a single PDF file.

However the PDF print properties like DuplexMode is reset to the default Simplex (This can be seen in PDF->Document properties->Advanced) after the kernel merge.

Because of this the following two issues may occur:

  • Direct print from SAP, with option Duplex Mode: From Document in Print Options Editor(described in KBA  2768405 - "Duplex printing for PDF type spool") always printS the PDF in Simplex.
  • Print offline PDF from Adobe Reader, the duplex default setting in the print dialog of Adobe Reader is wrong.
