2784102 - ASE Error SQL950 Database '<SID>' is currently offline - SAP ASE for BS

Symptom

  • SAP application cannot connect to the Business Suite ASE.
  • trans.log error:
    [ASE Error SQL950][SAP][ASE ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Enterprise]Database '<SID>' is currently offline. Please wait and try your command again later.
  • ASE errorlog shows:
    server  Database '<SID>' appears to be in the process of being loaded; ASE will not bring it online automatically. Use the ONLINE DATABASE command to bring this database online.
