2784113 - Error is Thrown When Changing the Serial Number Profile

Symptom

When trying to change the Serial Number Profile value for a material from Mandatory on all Logistics & Production Process to any other value, system shows the error message: "Open Task Found for Material XYZ; Serial Profile Cannot be Changed".

Reproducing the Issue

Go to the Product Data work center.
Select the Materials view.
Find the Product XXX.
Open the Product XXX.
Select View All.
Select the General tab.
Select the General sub tab.
Change the Serial Number Profile.
The following error is displayed:

Open task found for material XXX; serial profile cannot be changed.

Cause

It was finished all the tasks, however It still has one or more not closed Production Lots. The Production Lot has status Finished, but it needs to be Closed. This Production Lots have material as Input Product or Output Product which need to be set as Closed in both ways

Resolution

Go to the Inventory Valuation work center.
Select the Production Lots view.
Select the Advanced Search.
Fulfill the Material ID XXX.
Open the Production Lot.
Choose View All.
Select Close Lot.

The Production Lot Status will not be Finished anymore, it will be closed.

If the Production Lot doesn't show there, and the material is an Input Product, it can be find following the below steps.

Go to the Production Control work center
Go to Production Orders view.
In Advanced filter, select the Product ID from Input Product Data.
Click Go to find all the Production Orders that use the related product being an Input or Output Product.
It will show all Production Orders that use this material as Input Product.
Since the Production Order has the same ID as Production Lot, it can be found in the Document flow tab.
