2784786 - When forcing AP, message 307 "Index specified as optimizer hint in the FROM clause ... does not exist" - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When forcing an index on a temporary table using Abstract Plan (AP) clause inside a stored procedure, ASE returns Warning message 307:
  • Note: the message number is not actually part of return to the client

Index 'index_name' specified as optimizer hint in the FROM clause of table '#table_name' does not exist.
Optimizer will choose another index instead.
