2784794 - SAP BCA: error 1B017 during 'Posting cut-off' execution (F9B1)

Symptom

To set a new posting date for the corresponding Bank Area in transaction F9B1 is required. While this is being done, the following error message is received :

In bank area XXXX - error in determination of next posting date (basis XX.YY.ZZZZ)   
Message no. 1B 017
