2784819 - Unable to Link Multiple User Id to Single Person ID External

"The import file has the following error(s): User: [XXXXXX]Duplicate person_id_external [YYYYYY]" error on merge of multiple User ID (used for two separate employments prior to EC implementation) to a single Person ID External.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

From Admin Center > Import Employee Data, import the Basic User Info template to merge the user id under a person id external. System throws the following error message:

"The import file has the following error(s): User: [XXXXXX]Duplicate person_id_external [YYYYYY]"

User Ids cannot be merged or linked to another person Id external. Each person is associated to an employment through userIds and cannot be changed. See KBA 2493579.

Deactivate or make the other userId as inactive and add employments (global assignment/concurrent employment) under the active user Id after completing required setup for Employee Central
