2785176 - You Cannot Replace Line Items in Service Quote [Changing product type Spare part - advanced ship or sales not permitted]

Symptom

You try to change the Product ID of a Service Quote and receive error message 'Changing product type Spare part - advanced ship or sales not permitted'.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the New Business workcenter.
  2. Select the Service Quote view.
  3. Open service quote ABC (ABC represents the service quote ID).
  4. Navigate to the Spare Parts and Services tab.
  5. Select Line Item 10.
  6. Change the product ID of line item 10.

You receive error message 'Changing product type Spare part - advanced ship or sales not permitted'.

Cause

  • Currently it is not possible to change the ID of the product.
  • Instead you can delete the Row and add a new line item.

Resolution

  1. Open service quote ABC.
  2. Navigate to the Spare Parts and Services tab.
  3. Select line item 10.
  4. Click on Remove Row.
  5. Add row.
  6. Enter the product ID and adjust the line item ID.
