2786737 - How to delete an orphaned Person ID with Compound Delete functionality

When creating a new Employee via import, after importing the Basic User Data you encounter an error message [There is already another person in the system with the same Person ID External].

1. When performing an Import Employee Data you have received the error message [There is already another person in the system with the same Person ID External].
2. Then you have used the KBA  2438812 to confirm that there is an Orphaned Person ID in the system.

 How to check whether Compound Delete functionality is enabled in your instance

1. Go to Admin Center > Import Employee Data > Import Data
2. Check whether the "Compound Delete" option is displayed in the entity list

If this feature is not enabled,  to get this feature option enabled in your instance.View - Deleting Employee Data with Multiple Entities

Go to Admin Center - Manage Employee Central Settings  Enable Compound Deletion setting is enabled.

How do I enable the Compound Delete feature?

Via UI To enable the Compound Delete feature for Import Employee Data, you must:

1. Navigate to Manage Employee Central Settings
2. Select "Enable Compound Deletion"
3. Save

Note: This setting is required to download the required import file template.

Via Provisioning : please engage with SAP Cloud Product Support (LOD-SF-EC-EDP)

1. Go to Provisioning > Company Settings
2. Tick the box for "Enable Compound Delete"
3. Click on Save Feature

How to use the Compound Delete to delete an orphaned Person ID

A person is considered as an orphan person if and only if it is neither an employee (which means the Person ID has no link with a UserID) nor is it linked with a Dependent person (has no link with another person in the Dependents feature). In this case, the system will purge not only the Biographical Info data for the give Person ID, but every trace of that person’s data in all the person related entities such as National Id, Email, Home Address, etc.

1. Download the Import File Template for Compound Delete
1. Navigate to Admin Center > Import Employee Data
2. Select "Download Template"
3. Choose "Compound Delete" in the "Select and entity" field
4. Click Download

2. Fill in the Import Template for Compound Delete
1. Open the Compound Delete template in your CSV editor
2. Enter the orphaned Person ID and the HRIS Element ID in the template (in this case, the HRIS Element ID is "personInfo")
3. Save the template

3. Import the Compound Delete file you created in "Step 2"
1. Navigate to Admin Center > Import Employee Data
2. Select "Import Data"
3. Select "Compound Delete" in the "Select an entity" field
4. Choose the import file you created in "Step 2"
5. Click "Import".

The orphaned Person ID's will be removed once the import is complete.
