2788162 - Validatin error "The domain ID exists" gnerated when creating a new domain

Symptom

When creating a new domain the following validation error is generated:

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Proceed to System Admin > Security > Domains > Add New
  2. Select Add Sub Domain option and populate the Select Parent Domain value with your parent domain
  3. Populate the Sub Domain ID value with same value as entered in Select Parent Domain
  4. Error is generated

OR

  1. Proceed to System Admin > Security > Domains > Add New
  2. Select Add Root (Top) Level Domain option and populate the Domain ID value. Save
  3. Error is generated

Cause

LMS will not allow you to have the same name for a Domain and/or a Sub Domain

Resolution

Ensure that the value you are selecting for either your new Domain or Sub Domain does not match an already existing Domain ID
