With b1905 (Q2 2019), a new Role-Based Permission option, "Talent Search Export Permission", has been added to control whether users can export Talent Search results. You can grant the permission to relevant users through "Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles > [select a role] > Permission settings > Succession Planners > Talent Search Access > Talent Search Export Permission.

• If this setting is enabled, the behavior of the export feature will be exactly as it is today: The “Export” button will be visible in Talent Search v2; the fields in the export are controlled by settings in "Talent Search Field" in RBP and the target population (i.e. for which employees is the user allowed to view and therefore export the data).
• If this setting is disabled, the new handling takes effect: the “Export” button will be hidden in Talent Search v2 when users search using this role. It will not influence the searchable fields logic.

Why is it important? 

Although Talent Search v2 was already fully compliant with security and permission settings, this setting offers additional convenience for customers who do not accept to provide easy export functions, regardless whether the user roles have access to the data within the system. Exporting employee data is considered a very privacy sensitive task and should not be easily available for all talent search users.

How is this implemented for customers already using Talent Search? 

The "Talent Search Export Permission" has been automatically enabled for all permission roles that already had "Talent Search Access" permission enabled. Customers who want to restrict the Export Results access to the users will need to disable this option.
