2788799 - Identified Stock ID Not Permitted; ID is System Generated

While migrating identified stock id to your system via the migration tool you receive the below error message

Identified stock ID not permitted; ID is system-generated

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Navigate to Implementation Projects view.
3. Select the relevant project and choose the button Open Activity List.
4. Search and find the activity Migration of Identified Stock.
5. Choose the relevant file and slect the option Execute Migration Step by Step.

The reported error message is displayed.

You have maintained in the system business configuration that  the identified stock Id should be created automatically by the system. When you are migrating identified stock using migration template it is mandatory that you enter the identified stock IDs from your legacy system. It is expected that the identified stock ID's of your legacy systems are being uploaded and SAP will not generate the identified stock ID's for migrated identified stocks.

To migrate the data without errors you will have to make the following changes to your business configuration document.

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Select Implementation Project view.
3. Choose Edit Project Scope.
4. Go to Step 4 - Questions.
5. Select the Element: Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Logistics.
6. Then the sub-element: Tracking, Tracing, and Identification.
7. Select the option Identified Stock.
8. Scope the below given questions as Yes (in the check box)

• Do you plan to enter batch numbers manually?
• Do you plan to enter optional specified stock numbers manually?
• Do you plan to enter mandatory specified stock numbers manually?

Once the above steps are performed and saved you will be able to migrate the identified stocks successfully in your system. After the migration is complete you can de-scope the above questions so that manual entry of Identified stock IDs are not possible via the end user.
