Symptom

Date format locale does not work in Onboarding e-mail Notification

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configured Locale like en-GB from super admin.
  2. Use {WOTCStartDate, formatdate=long, locale=en-GB} in notification
  3. en-GB format locale does not reflect in sent e-mail 

Cause

To make the Locale date format effective, you also need to make the locale consistent with Notifications->e-mail-> Edit->Locale

Resolution

  1. Go to Notifications
  2. Find the Notification > Highlight and click e-mail
  3. Edit > Locale
  4. Check the Locale there if consistent with the locale you defined from {WOTCStartDate, formatdate=long, locale=en-GB}

  5. {WOTCStartDate, formatdate=long, locale=en-GB}- Month in British English (Ex: April 14,2016)
  6. {WOTCStartDate, formatdate=mediumNoYear, locale=en-GB}- Date without year (Ex: April 14)
