2789197 - How to determine where a document in Manage Documents is attached in SuccessFactors?

There is a requirement to identify where a document stored in Manage Documents is attached within SAP SuccessFactors.

It is not possible to identify, through the Manage Documents tool, the exact location where a document is attached within SAP SuccessFactors.

However, by checking the Document Entity and Document Category, it is possible to identify the module that uploaded the document and the functional area where it is used. This can be done by cross-checking these values with the table available in SAP Help Portal – Predefined Document Categories. 

For example, if a document has the (Document Category = Onboardee) and the (Document Entity = Administrative), the table indicates that the document is associated with Onboarding. The description for this category states: Administrative documents uploaded for new hires are tracked using this category.

This information helps identify the module and the general purpose of the document.

Note: The Document Entity and Document Category provide only a general indication of where the document is used. They do not identify the specific record, user, object, or page to which the document is attached.
