Symptom

For new hire exception we get an error 'The new exception window overlaps with the "Selected Period" {1}, for Benefit {2}' in Benefit Exception Logs.

Environment

Employee Central - Benefits.

Reproducing the Issue

In Benefit Admin Overview > Benefits Exception Log > Search for user > Status is failed and we get an error 'The new exception window overlaps with the "Selected Period" {1}, for Benefit {2}.'

Cause

This issue is caused because the enrolment window is open in schedule period hence it does not need an exception. The Exception start date or exception end date might be between Enrollment Open and Enrollment Close date. Kindly check the Enrollment Open and Enrollment Close date. As the enrolment window is already open, there is no need for exception and hence the error.

Resolution

Either you can adjust the start date of exception or remove the benefit name from list or change the effective date of Benefit Life Event Configuration (which should be after enrolment close date).
