Symptom
The subject of an activity task created by a workflow rule is not what you expect.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Cause
How the subject is taken over for activity tasks created by workflow rules, is connected to what languages they are maintained in as well as the recipients language settings.
Determination of the language for the subject of activity tasks created by workflow rules follow below sequence:
The workflow execution first checks the language maintained in the Basic Settings screen of the recipient maintained in the workflow rule.
If a language is maintained there, then the subject of the activity task will be maintained in that language in tasks created by workflow rule.
To see which Language is maintained in your user's Basic Settings screen: Click Personalize (Top right corner of screen) -> My Settings -> Language.
There are two cases:
1. The language is not maintained in the Basic Settings screen for the recipient.
In this case, the subject of the Activity task will be according to the subject maintained in the workflow rule in system language.
Further this is divided into to cases:
1.1 If the subject is not maintained in system language in workflow rule:
- By default, the subject of the created activity Task will be "Activity Task".
1.2 If the subject is maintained in system language in the workflow rule:
- The text of the created activity task will be according to the text maintained in system language in the workflow rule.
2. The language is maintained in the Basic Settings screen for the recipient.
Further this is divided into to cases:
2.1 If the subject is maintained in the workflow rule for the language maintained in the user Basic Settings screen:
- The subject of the Activity task will be according to the subject maintained in the workflow rule in that language.
2.2 If the subject is not maintained in the workflow rule for the language maintained in the user Basic Settings screen:
- By default, the subject of the created Activity Task will be "Activity Task".
Resolution
