2791383 - HRIS Sync Mappings - Employee Profile destination fields should not be editable via UI for EC users

Symptom

As of the 1905 release, for Employee Central users, the fields in the Live Profile User Information block in Employee Profile will be read only. These fields can only be updated by the HRIS Sync process to ensure data consistency. If the user is not an Employee Central user, then nothing is impacted - that is, as long as the employee has the correct role-based permissions, they can still edit the information on the Live Profile User Information block in Profile.

Resolution

This feature works as defined for custom HRIS Sync Mappings from Employee Central to Employee Profile, however not all hard-coded HRIS Sync Mapped fields (those not defined in the data model or Manage Business Configuration) are made read-only for the Employee Central user.

Some fields that are currently still editable by the Employee Central User are the following:

firstName
mi
lastName
hireDate
managerId
dateOfBirth
salutation
Suffix

Please note: Duplicating the hard-coded mappings as a custom sync mapping is not recommended and is not a valid workaround, further details regarding hard-coded sync mappings can be found here: 2172427 - HRIS Sync - Data Synchronization from EC to EP - Hard Coded Sync Mappings

Engineering is currently investigating this issue and will address it in a future release
