2791640 - ODP DataSource Replication

The purpose of this KBA is to provide additional information about the replication of changes of ODP Datasources.

When one of the below changes is made in the Extractor in the source system:

• Adding a field
• Removing a field
• Changing selection properties ( ROOSFIELD-SELECTION )
• Changing the type/length of a field

then the Replication via:

• RSA1
• RSDS
• BW Modelling Tools

does not update the DataSource with the changes. (E.g.RSDSSEGFD-SELECTION is not updated)

Trying to replicate the DataSource with an update still pending will not be possible, as it will be in a incompatible state. This is as per design. In BW Modelling Tools you will see the following when trying to replicate it; the operation status will be "Update (incompatible)":

If you try to continue by pressing "Next" you see that the option "Activate Updated DataSource" is greyed out and that the DataSource will be set to inactive after.
