2791758 - Transport Management: Extension Field <BOName>-<NodeName> EXT-<FieldName> of Business Role <RoleName> is invalid

You have assembled your Transport Request in the Source system, and have now sent the request to the Target system. The Transport Request contains a business role(s).

When you activate the Transport Request, your receive the below message:

• Extension Field <BOName>-<NodeName> EXT-<TechnicalFieldName> of Business Role <RoleName> is invalid Transport Object ID: <NameOfRequest>.

Prerequisites:

• You have already created your Transport Request with a transport object of type Business Role included.
• You have assembled this request in the Source system.
• You have activated the Transport Request in the Source system to send to the Target system.

To review the Transport Logs:

1. Go to the Administrator work center.
2. Go to the Transport Management view.
3. Open the Transport Request XYZ (XYZ represents the ID).
4. Go to the Transport Logs facet.
5. Click on Expand All button to show detailed log messages.
6. Observe the error message(s).

Error:

Extension Field <BOName>-<NodeName> EXT-<TechnicalFieldName> of Business Role <RoleName> is invalid Transport Object ID: <NameOfRequest>.

The business role in the Source system contains a restriction for an extension field that is not available in the Target system.

You should either:

1. Recreate the extension field in the Target system with the exact same properties (name, data type etc.) and try to activate the Transport Request again.
2. Modify the business role in the Source system and remove the field restriction for the extension field. You can then create a new Transport Request and send to the Target system.  After doing this, you can maintain the same configurations.
