2792179 - Fiori Time Off ESS - Requesting Field Does not Become Editable Until all Custom Mandatory Fields are Filled

Symptom

On the Fiori Time Off ESS UI, the ability to request in hours via "Requesting" field for Partial leave is only activated if mandatory custom fields are populated first.

Environment

Employee Central - Time-Off

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Have a mandatory custom field in Employee Time object definition.
  2. For one of the time types, allow requesting in full days.
  3. The requesting field is not editable until the mandatory custom field is filled.

Resolution

  • This is an expected behavior at the moment. Our engineering is currently working on a fix for this issue, the Release version is not confirmed yet.
  • In the meanwhile please follow the workaround below :

Workaround:

  • Create a take rule on the associated time type and raise an error message if any of the custom fields are not filled.
  • You will then see the Requesting field drop down option directly after dialog opening. An error message is then displayed stating some custom fields which are mandatory are empty.

Note:

  • Changing the Time Type to a Time Type which has no mandatory custom field and changing back to the original Time Type will make the requesting field visible and editable again.
