Symptom

  • When running the SAP BI Platform 4.2 SP07 installer and trying to connect to HANA CMS DB , you got an error -  
    SAP BusinessObjects BI platform CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database ""CMSDBNAME"". Reason: General error;-10719 Connect failed (invalid SERVERNODE 'CMSDBNAME') (FWB 00090)

  •  Upon testing with isql connect according to SAP KBA 2685023 ,  the connection to cms db odbc DSN was failing due to error 
    isql command could not sqlconnect to hana
