Unable to make a field as Required, Optional, or Hidden in the Product Master app Manage Product Master Data

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition does not provide any SSCUI/Configuration Activity to make fields mandatory, optional, or hidden in the App Manage Product Master Data .

The configuration activity 'Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups' 104026 is available for controlling field selection ( Required, Optional, or Hidden ) in the classical Create Material , Change Material apps 

The creation of a New Field selection group is not possible in the Configuration Activity 'Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups'. 

The Configuration Help only mentions that 'Additionally, you can also create and maintain field references. You can see where a field reference is used by choosing Where-Used list. ' 

It is currently a Missing Functionality.

Consider raising a functionality request in SAP Customer Influence Program if you would like the possiblity of controlling field selection of fields in the app Manage Product Master Data through 'Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups' 104026 or the possiblity to create a new Field selection group in the Configuration Activity 'Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups'. 

SAP Customer Influence enables customers to submit improvement requests and to openly vote on them.

As a Workaround:

It is possible to make an error message appear when a certain field in the app "Manage Product Master Data" is not maintained through the usage of the Master Data enhancements available in Custom Fields and Logic app.

Note: the BAdI/Enhancement is only called/works for Manage Product Master Data app. It will not be called/will not work in Change Material, Create Material or Display Material apps.
