Unable to make a field as Required / Optional / Hidden in the Apps "Manage Product Master Data" and "Change / Create /  Display Material".

Missing Functionality.

Currently, in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition there is no SSCUI for Field Selection in the Product Master to make fields mandatory / optional or hidden in the Apps  "Manage Product Master Data" and "Change / Create /  Display Material".

It is suggested to use the SAP Customer Influence Program as outlined in the KBA 2963059 for the SSCUI to be included in a future release.

Workaround:

It is suggested to consider using the Enhancements 'Master Data : Product' provided in the APP "Custom Logic". It can achive that an error appears when a certain field in the APP "Manage Product Master Data" is not maintained.

Kindly note the BAdI / Enhancement is only called in the APP "Manage Product Master Data". It will not be called in the APPs "Create / Change / Display Material".
