Symptom

When executing RESTORE DATABASE command like below to restore IQ database using backup file stored on a network drive, it fails with error:

restore database 'C:\ProgramData\SybaseIQ\demo\iqdemo.db' from '\\\\hostname\\test\\test.bak'

Could not execute statement.
Error during backup/restore: unable to open device
\\\\hostname\\test\\test.bak (Unknown err status reading HDR
labels)
SQLCODE=-697, ODBC 3 State="HY000"
