2794025 - Chart Option Grayed Out in Report or Dashboard

You would like your report to be shown in a chart view, however the chart option is grayed out. You cannot select any chart type.

In Dashboards the icon will be greyed out and when you hover over the icon it will show "Chart view not enabled for the selected report".

1. Go to the work center Business Analytics and the view Design Reports.
2. Open the respective report.
3. Set the selection variables as required and run the report.
4. Arrange the view as needed.
5. Clicking on the Chart option is not possible because it is grayed out.

The view is not suitable to be rendered in any chart type. This is often the case when there is too much data in the report result (for example, several pages).

Different chart types have different requirements in terms of the minimum or maximum number of key figures or characteristics. Generally however, a chart can only be rendered if the data volume is not too large, i.e. if the table shows no more than 1 page of data. Charts cannot be expanded to more than one page. Hence, please reduce the data volume either by setting more variables in the selection or by removing a few fields from the view.
