2794294 - No Messages Displayed in Message Center - Recruiting Management

Symptom

  • No emails appear when the new feature 'Message Center' is enabled
  • Message shown "You have no messages"

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Enable Message Center as per section Enabling Email Correspondence and Message Center from the Implementation Guide.
  2. Go to Recruiting > Message Center
  3. No Emails in list > 'You have no messages'

Cause

  • Some RBP Permissions are not enabled.
  • Improper configuration with Candidate Profile Template fields causes an error upon loading candidate information in Message Center.
    • The field id "name" is set as standard field with the attribute custom="false".
    • Data type mismatch for a reportable custom field. For example, a Text type field is mapped to Number type via Provisioning > Configure Reportable Custom Fields.

Resolution

RBP Permission:

  • Since RCM uses XML permissions, the objects related to RCM needs to be marked as non-secure. Add the following permission to your users:
    • Manage Permission Roles > [Permission Role] > Permission settings > Permission... > Administrator Permissions > Metadata Framework > Access to non-secured objects
    • Manage Permission Roles > [Permission Role] > Permission settings > Permission... > Recruiting Permissions > Odata API Candidate export
    • Manage Permission Roles > [Permission Role] > Permission settings > Permission... > Manage Integration Tools > Odata API Attachment export
  • To access and use Message Center, ensure to enable the EmailBrandTemplate permission for the relevant user.
    • Manage Permission Roles > [Permission Role] > Permission settings > Permission... > Manage MDF Recruiting Objects > EmailBrandTemplate > Visibility: View

Once these permissions are enabled, please carry out an OData API Metadata Refresh.

Please see the Using the Message Center section from the Implementation Guide for further details. If the issue still remains, please open a Support Case.

**Alternatively, please use Upgrade Center as per the Release Notes which will avoid having to implement additional configuration.**

Note: The recruiter will see only his own email threads with candidates, so no threads started by other users will be visible.

Candidate Profile Template Fields:

1. Field id "name"

  1. Check if the field id "name" is defined in the Candidate Profile template.
  2. Set it as CUSTOM field with the attribute custom="true".
  3. Carry out an OData API Metadata Refresh via Admin Center.

Note: It is not supported to change the custom attribute via the Manage Templates tool. This change can be done via Provisioning only.

If you are no longer working with an Implementation Partner, you can submit a change request to SAP Support using the approval document downloaded from the following KBA.

  • KBA 2258199 - Software Change Request for SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
  • Request item: "XML Template Upload due to Manage Templates limitation"

2. Data type mismatch

  1. Go to Provisioning > Configure Reportable Custom Fields > Candidate tab.
  2. Review reportable custom fields. Map the fields to the correct type as per the field type defined in the Candidate Profile Template.
    • For more information, see KBA 3274437.
  3. Carry out an OData API Metadata Refresh via Admin Center.

As a customer, if you are no longer working with an Implementation Partner, please open a Support Case.
