2794373 - How to restrict user to see Higher Level Position - Employee Central

This document explains how to restrict users to see their Higher Level Position(s) and/or Lower Level Position(s).

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Position Management Settings

1. Go to Manager Permission Roles
2. On the required target population grant  Include access to Position in the hierarchy below the Granted User's Position -> Parent Position = All level(s) down. To give access to only all positions down in hierarchy. 
   
   
   
3. Otherwise give Parent Position = 1 level(s) down. To give access to only 1 level down the hierarchy of that position.

Note: The user permission role should grant permission to the Position object (Configure Object Definitions -> Position) configured on the Security tab.

Special Note: 

Please note that if there is another permission role assigned to the user granting full position access, then this permission role will win and the user will be able to access the higher level position. Please be sure to verify all permission roles tied to the user when adjusting access to Position hierarchy.
