Symptom

  • A client session terminates unexpectedly.
  • The client was executing a query with an IN clause containing many items.
  • The ASE errorlog contains an "infected with signal 11" error in the module CgpGlobal::CgpTransform(), for example:

Current process (0x71c902e2) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0x000000000188bb38 (CgpGlobal::CgpTransform(CgpPop*)+0x3c8), siginfo (code, address) = (1, 0x(nil))

  • Followed by a stack trace containing functions: 

CgpGlobal::CgpTransform()
CgpPop*CgpGlobal::CgpGenerate()
Optimize()
s_compile_stmt()
