Symptom

Literally millions of stacks written to the ASE errorlog in under 10 hours:

There were:

  • timeslice errors:
     
    timeslice -759, current process infected at 0x167a798 (atomic_try+0x2)
    timeslice error: spid 369 exhausted its 'time slice' of 100 milliseconds and additional 'cpu grace time' of 500 ticks (50000 milliseconds). It has been marked for termination.
    This Adaptive Server process has had 131 major and 956802 minor page faults since boot.

    Restarted process 'HK WASH'.
     
  • Current process (0x0) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
