2795194 - You Cannot Confirm Pick Task with Serial Number "Mandatory on transfer to/from customers"

You are trying to confirm a Pick task for a product that has the Serial Number Profile "Mandatory on transfer from and to customers". However, when you enter the Serial Number in the Next Serial field, or try to upload the Serial Numbers via the Upload button as documented in the Help document "Working with Serial Numbers", the system does not record the Serial Number. You cannot confirm the Pick task even though there is stock available.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Outbound Logistics work center.
2. Navigate to the Task Control view.
3. Find and select Task XXX (XXX represents the Task ID).
4. Click the Confirm button.
5. Go to the Serial Numbers tab.
6. Select the row with the product XYZ (XYZ represents the Product ID) and enter a Serial number value in the Next Serial Number tab and hit Enter key.
7. The system does not register the Serial Number input. It is also not possible to use the +Upload button to upload the Serial Numbers.

Bar code and Automatic Identification is not scoped in your Implementation Project.

The Next Serial Number field and the Upload button works via Barcode. The Serial is converted into Barcode format and then posted into the system. The following Configuration Elements need to be scoped:

• Automatic Identification.
• Bar Code Type UCC/EAN 128.

• Navigation on Bar Code Scanning.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Navigate to the Implementation Projects view.
3. Select the relevant Implementation Project and choose the Edit Project Scope button.
4. In the Edit screen, navigate to the 3 Scoping tab, and expand the Element "Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Logistics", and then the element "Task Management and Automation".
5. Then you can see that Automatic Identification is not scoped. Please scope it.
6. Navigate to 4 Questions tab, and expand the Element "Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Logistics”, and then the element "Task Management and Automation".
7. Select "Automatic Identification". Please ensure that you scope the Question "Do you plan to work with UCC/EAN 128 bar codes?".
8. You must also ensure that you scope the Fine Tune Activity "Bar Code Type UCC/EAN 128".
9. Please save your changes and restart the system.
