2795563 - Error While Posting a Revaluation of a Fixed Assed: 'Asset AAA val.view ABC: Postings related to current year is not permitted as total acquisition costs posted into the current year is zero'

You are trying to post a revaluation of a Fixed Asset and receive some error messages.

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Go to the Fixed Assets view.
3. Select the respective Fixed Asset.
4. Click Manual Posting -> Revaluation.
5. Enter the relevant information.
6. Click Simulate.

Here you can see the below error messages:

'An error occurred during depreciation calculation for asset AAA'

'Asset AAA val.view ABC: Postings related to current year is not permitted as total acquisition costs posted into the current year is zero'

'Journal entries for journal entry voucher cannot be simulated'

The reason why system is raising the errors is that the "Related To" field was maintained as "1 - Current Year" and the total Acquisition Posted to the current year is zero.

You can check the Acquisition Posted using as follows:

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Go to the Fixed Assets view.
3. Select the Fixed Asset ABC.
4. Click Edit -> Values.
5. Show the current Fiscal Year.

The Posted Amount for the current Fiscal Year is zero.

The Revaluation can be successfully simulated and posted by changing the "Related To" field to "2 - Previous Years".
