What is the difference between a Job board and a School/University Job board in Recruiting Posting?

Resolution

The main difference lays within their technical structures. Indeed, schools tend to have a less developed platform, and therefore need a different kind of integration than job boards.

There are three different cases when posting on schools:

  • There is a technical integration with the school’s career site provider: jobs are posted directly through this provider.  
  • There is not a technical integration with the school’s career site provider: jobs are posted on the customers’ behalf.
  • The school does not have career site: jobs are sent to the school via email. 

Please note that if posting on school job boards is usually free, it may sometimes be charged. If the school is charged and the jobs are posted on customers behalf on the school, they will NOT be posted because we don't intervene in the monetary exchange between customer and schools. The posting can requires to select type of credit, duration and costs can vary because the options selected, sometimes it also requires a credit card to validate the posting. For these various reasons Recruiting Posting cannot post on behalf of customer if the school posting is charged in the customer interface.

Furthermore, the same school may have different posting interfaces dedicated to internships or permanent jobs (alumni or first job). In this case, there will be several job boards for the same school and therefore several configurations.

Jobs are sent to the schools within 3 business days. Once the jobs are sent to the universities, whether the jobs are published or not, and within which delay depend on the school’s processes. Please note that, often, jobs are manually validated by the universities' staff.

Regarding follow up after posting there are also two main differences comparing to job boards:  

  • You can’t access the posting status of your jobs from the Recruiting Posting interface 
  • Jobs posted on school boards cannot be modified or deleted
