Symptom
When using the new Transfer of Direct Reports based on Position Hierarchy on Termination of a Manager feature (ECT-111261).
The Direct Reports are correctly getting updated to the correct manager, but the higher-level position on the direct reports position is not updating.
Environment
Employee Central - Position Mangement
Reproducing the Issue
1. Set "Reassign Direct Reports According to Position Hierarchy on Termination Screen" to 'Yes - Always' or 'Yes - Optional'
2. Terminate a Manager with direct reports transferring the direct reports based on the Position hierarchy
3. Direct Reports manager is correctly updated based on the Position Hierarchy
4. The Direct Reports's Positions have not been updated with the new Higher-Level Position
Cause
This is Expected Behaviour
Resolution
The feature "Reassign Direct Reports According to Position Hierarchy on Termination Screen" does not change/adapt the Position hierarchy itself.
It will adapt the Reporting Hierarchy for the Direct Reports of the Terminated Manager, i.e. Job Information will be updated for the Direct Reports to report to the Higher Level Position which has an incumbent.
In other words, Terminating the Manager only transfer the Employee who are directly reporting the Manager. This action does not transfer the Positions under new manager.
If you want these positions should also be moved, the action has to be manual for Position Movement.
