2797042 - Unable to open SSL connection to host "hostname:port". Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier

Symptom

  • After configuring HTTPS for Integration Directory and Integration Repository, you see the following errors when using Integration Builder and ESR:

    Attempt to access application REPOSITORY using HTTP Method Invocation (HMI) failed. Detailed information: Invoking ROA method "ReadObjects" via HMI... FAILED due to following exception: Message: Connection to system REPOSITORY using application REPOSITORY lost.
    Exception: Message: Unable to open SSL connection to host "host:port". Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.
    Stacktrace:
    java.io.lOException: Unable to open SSL connection to host "host:port". Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.

    Connection to system REPOSITORY using application REPOSITORY lost. Detailed information: Processing request (SAP:30000:-1:300000): Sending request to https://host:port/rep/query/int?container=any and receiving response ... FAILED! Message is: Unable to open SSL connection to host "https://host:port". Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.
    Exception: Message: Unable to open SSL connection to host "host:port". Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.
    Stacktrace:
    java.io.IOException: Unable to open SSL connection to host
  • SLD Registration with http port: Unable to register the application repository with SLD. Details: com.sap.aii.utilxi.sld.RegistrationFailedException: IO error: Unable to open SSL connection to host "<hostname>:50001". Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.
  • SLD Registration with https port: Error during SLD registration. Details: com.sap.aii.utilxi.rtcheck.registertest.SLDRegistrationException: Error while performing SLD registration of application 'Integration Repository' on host '<hostname>'. Error: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
